Christian Cooper says in a Facebook post that the woman, now identified as Amy Cooper, called police to say she was being threatened by an “African American” man because she didn’t like him asking her to leash her dog, while the sign next to her clearly said that dogs had to be leashed at all times. In the 911 call made by the woman, she said that Cooper was threatening her life and to send cops immediately. After the video went viral, she was fired from her job and banned from going back to central park for life.

As health experts stress the importance of wearing masks, the matter has gotten political. President Donald Trump has foregone face coverings in public while his presumptive rival Joe Biden has worn one. "We now have really clear evidence that wearing masks works -- it's probably a 50% protection against transmission," Dr. Chris Murray, director of the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation, or IHME, at the University of Washington, said.

AMC entertainment is recently listed as one of the many companies that might go bankrupt during this pandemic. The fact that streaming services have been taking a bite out of AMC's business for years is one of the big reasons AMC might go bankrupt. Another reason is theaters being forced to remain closed until the end of the pandemic.

The former Minneapolis police officer seen in a video with his knee on George Floyd's neck before the unarmed black man died this week was taken into custody Friday by state authorities in Minnesota. Floyd was arrested Monday after he allegedly used a counterfeit bill at a convenience store, police have said. Outrage grew after a video surfaced showing a Minneapolis police officer kneeling on Floyd's neck. The 46-year-old, who was unarmed and handcuffed, cried out that he couldn't breathe. Riots and protests have broken out everywhere in the U.S, mostly in Minneapolis.
